Once you try this homemade cranberry sauce, you’ll never but the canned stuff again. This simple recipe has only 6 ingredients and is ready after 15 minutes on the stove.
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about what you’re going to serve with that turkey! Cranberry sauce is essential in my household. Afterall, what’s Thanksgiving without cranberry sauce with your turkey? This Cranberry Orange Sauce is the perfect compliment to your Thanksgiving meal

For your Cranberry Orange Sauce all you need is:
- 12 oz fresh cranberries
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/4 fresh orange juice
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 teaspoons orange zest
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
You’ll cook your cranberries, water, juce, and brown sugar over medium heat until the berries start to bubble. Lower the heat to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in zest, vanilla, and cinnamon. The sauce will thicken as it cools.
I’ve included my YouTube video giving detailed instructions on how to make this delicious cranberry sauce. Have a look! Enjoy!
I have never cooked cranberry sauce. Each year I just put frozen cranberries 1 quartered orange a 3/4 cup of sugar in a food processor, mix thoroughly and let sit for at least 24 hours. Everyone’s favorite in my family. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving.
